Modern and Primitive Camping

Summer is the best excuse for grabbing your tent, sleeping bags, and some food like that delicious hotdogs and soft marshmallows to go out camping. Camping is one of the inexpensive and simple ways of experiencing Mother Nature at your leisure time. There are two major ways of camping; primitive and modern. Primitive camping may mean setting camp in the wilderness and experiencing the simple way of life devoid of modern conveniences. Modern camping, on the other hand, may mean setting camp in more accessible places such as state park camping grounds with facilities like bathroom, shower and garbage disposal areas.

Primitive camping can be fun and adventurous as you may experience learning new things from nature such as building fire without using matchsticks and lighters but with twigs and fire wood instead. Yet, this kind of camping experience is not for the faint heart and for families that have small children who are susceptible to unpredictable weather conditions and getting lost in the wilderness.

Modern camping is more comfortable and suitable for family camping as modern facilities are just a convenient distance away. Some facilities may also include cottages. However, modern camping may not give you the feeling of deep connection to nature as it can make the campers feel that they are just camping in their lawn a good few steps away from the house.
